Finally! After days and months of tormenting and suffering, I am done with everything regarding the procedure of Admission. My merit was 78ish and I expect to get enrolled in Computer Engineering Dept which is my aim currently, although little can I do now. However, confident as I am, I expect to hail victorious at least this time, defeating forces of fear.
My first experience with UET was nothing near impressive. The administration in UET is probably the slowest, although still better than NUST. LUMS, GIKI and other private institutions are way out of the league.
The E-CAT test, on the contrary, was organized very well. Infact, this is an under-statement. I was actually amazed to see such exemplary arrangements. In this matter, again NUST was worst followed by LUMS (which is quite surprising).
The admission process, I am told, is tough. Consequentially, UET promises the best student body. But, practically speaking, UET needs to work on the grooming of its engineers.
Internationally, UET is well-recognized. And graduates from UET, as scattered throughout the big spherical ball, varying from MIT to University of Luxembourg.
The most significant factor that derides UET from being the best in the business is the "mahool" (ambiance). What do you expect from the sole public engineering university with expenses as low as Rs. 1000/- per month and FSc. being the favored system of education.
All-in-all, mixed impressions. But then, you can't have it all. Compromises must be made. And I know quite well what I am up to. I am ready for any challenge.
Cheers =)
